2-in-1~ Parent's visit in Taiwan!

2-in-1 post since I haven't updated in a long time! Parents came to visit from 20/4 - 27/4... woo packed schedule man... I think they covered 70% of the places I covered during these 2 1/2 months in 7 days haha...

More pictures to come!

Jetty at Taitung (台東)

What's up with the "Welcome" sign!?

Green Island originated from an underground volcano, so as you can see... its shoreline is littered with rock formations like these

Anti-communistic slogans on cliff walls

Propaganda? What do you think?

"We must fight against Communism!"

This is the cell where political prisoners are jailed. About 10 people are squeezed into each cell...

The former political prison has now become a cultural centre

Sika Deer Ecological Ranch

The dog and the sleeping beauty. Can see? The dog has "flappy ears" like those of a beagle's.

Close-up of the sleeping beauty haha......

Here I am, standing beside the airport runway haha......

Got a Mediterranean feel to it.

高雄 and 墾丁... It's Spring time!!!

Spring time has arrived! Woohoo~ Went for a 3 day 2 night trip to Kaohsiung and KenTing last weekend, but I only managed to find time to upload the pictures today haha...... I've been busy with projects and presentations~

Kaohsiung Railway Station. We took the coach instead because all the trains were full. It's tomb-cleaning day(清明節)/ Spring Break weekend. Power

Juz in time to try out the Kaohsiung MRT. It was free because the system was still under trial.

Train approaching.

View of the track at the World Games Arena Station. The Arena is being built for the 2009 World Games, which will be held in Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung MRT Map. The Orange Line isn't ready yet hahaha......

愛河之心

BIG decorative structure found along 愛河.

Nice name for the Pier haha...... Who needs the SDU when you've got the Love Pier?

新崛江 - Kaohsiung's version of Taipei's 西門町

That's A LOT of stuff to set up and keep for a games stall at the 瑞豐 (Rui Feng) night market. The place is big, with well over 50 stores selling food and clothing etc.

KenTing main street. You get the feeling that almost EVERYONE is coming here for the 春呐音樂節 (Spring Scream Music Festival). Just look at the amount of traffic.

Rememer this picture. Taken at 1 to 2 pm in the afternoon when we got there.

Same location, different time. This was taken at 4 to 5 pm at the same stretch of beach. Woohoo~ Spring Scream madness

The ladies doing some sunbathing.
